POSITION OPEN ANNOUNCEMENT

Exercise Science Instructor General Description:

The exercise science instructor at Northridge Local Schools will provide instructional activities which are consistent with the objectives of the exercise science curriculum and the MVCTC in general. The instructor will direct the learning experiences of the students, including skill development, human relations, and the leadership qualities necessary to obtain gainful employment. HOSA is an integral part of the curriculum and the instructor will be expected to actively participate with the co-curricular activities. The exercise science instructor will report to the satellite supervisor.

Qualifications:

1. Must meet all the requirements governing teacher education and certification. 2. Must possess a sincere interest in working with young people. 3. Must hold a current, valid teaching or ability to obtain a CTE teaching license. 4. Must hold a Bachelor's degree in exercise science, kinesiology, sports medicine, health science or related field. 5. Deliver instruction in courses related to exercise science, sports medicine, kinesiology, anatomy & physiology, fitness training and wellness. 6. Ability to move about the classroom/lab to check student work and monitor behavior. 7. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, parents, and business partners. 8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 9. Possess excellent human relations skills and serve as a role model for students. 10. Ability to make work site visits to monitor the student or confer with the employer as required.
