Job Description

Menlo is Ohio's only public community school dedicated to the education of gifted learners, grades K to 8, and is seeking experienced teachers who have the mindset and skills to teach collaboratively in a flexible space learning environment. Teachers must effectively collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement the program, be dedicated to designing and implementing engaging learning activities that are intellectually challenging. High Quality PD promotes collaboration and informed knowledge about the implementation of our program and can be used for licensure advancement or renewal. A successful teacher at Menlo embraces the following concepts that are core to our mission: Focus on the whole child, with positive behavior supports encouraging learning from mistakes and comprehensive social/emotional learning strategies. Teaching in flexible mixed-grade ability groupings for Language Arts and Math instruction. Implementing extension experiences such as field trips, assemblies, contests, competitions and clubs are used to enhance the curriculum. Beginning salary is based on experience and education. Benefits package includes health insurance, STRS contributions, tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities and conference attendance. Additionally, faculty members are to: Be innovative in their approach to curriculum Support efforts to use STEM and STEAM methods Use engaging, higher level learning activities to promote critical and deep learning
