In this vital role, you will inspire and guide students through the fascinating worlds of physics, chemistry, and biology, fostering curiosity and critical thinking. Your expertise will help shape the next generation of scientists and innovators by delivering engaging lessons, designing innovative curricula, and nurturing a love for scientific discovery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that cover topics such as trigonometry, geometry, calculus, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, microbiology, cell biology, differential equations, discrete math, and science research methods. Deliver engaging classroom instruction that incorporates learning technology to enhance student understanding and participation. Design and adapt curriculum materials to meet diverse student needs, including those in special education or with behavioral management requirements. Manage classroom environments effectively to promote positive behavior and foster an inclusive learning atmosphere. Assess student progress through standardized testing, lab reports, research projects, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Supervise laboratory activities involving dissection, scientific research, or laboratory experiments ensuring safety protocols are followed. Mentor students through tutoring sessions, academic advising, and guidance on research opportunities or science competitions. Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning and instructional design to continuously improve teaching strategies. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral reports; communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress. Engage in ongoing professional development related to science education techniques, research laboratory experience, and educational administration. Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day. Consistent and punctual attendance Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Administrator Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field. Proven experience teaching secondary-level science courses with a focus on physical sciences. Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate with appropriate Science endorsement. Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with effective communication skills for working with students of varying abilities. Laboratory experience including dissection techniques and safety procedures; research laboratory experience is a plus.
