Position Overview:
Lehigh Christian Academy (LCA) provides a quality education that is Christ-centered to approximately 300 PK-12 students. LCA serves Christian families from a variety of denominations throughout Lehigh Valley. LCA faculty are professionals who nurture and challenge students, while teaching with a Biblical worldview. Faculty intentionally partner with families to instill the characteristics and virtues articulated in our Portrait of a Graduate. These characteristics and virtues include the following: to articulate wisdom, knowledge, and Biblical truth in love. to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, loving, and serving His church. to develop an appreciation for truth, beauty, and goodness in God's creation. to apply and make connections within the Christian liberal arts tradition. to think logically and critically, discerning truth, as a life-long learner. to pursue justice, mercy, grace, and charity with empathy and compassion. to approach problems and challenges with a Biblical worldview. to demonstrate the skills of a Godly follower and leader.
Responsibilities:
Teach with LCA's scope and sequence, while working collaboratively with colleagues and administration. Provide excellent classroom management skills, while maintaining a clean, attractive, well-ordered classroom. Employ a variety of instructional methods that provide creative teaching to the whole child: spiritual, physical, social, and emotional. Use formative and summative assessments on a regular basis to provide feedback to students and inform instruction. Communicate to students, parents, and administration on student progress. Integrate faith and learning, teaching with a Biblical worldview. Pursue professional development opportunities as a professional educator. Collaborate with administration to provide appropriate accommodations and support for a variety of learners.
Requirements and Qualifications:
B.A. degree is required. Degree in a Science Related Field or Science Education Field is preferred. State and/or ACSI teacher certificate is preferred. Knowledge and passion for Christian education. Agreement with the Statement of Faith is required. Ability to manage Google classroom and the FACTS family portal, Renweb system, while using other classroom technologies such as a Smartboard. Organized and possess a professional demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time. Must be able to move throughout the classroom and bend and/or lean to adjust your height to young children when giving instruction.
