10 Months Position Summary The Physics Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, standards-aligned physics instruction that promotes critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and problem-solving skills. The Physics Teacher creates and implements lessons aligned with Pennsylvania Academic Standards and Keystone Assessment Anchors, while fostering a classroom environment that supports student achievement and scientific exploration. The Physics Teacher also works collaboratively with colleagues to support school-wide goals and student success. Major Responsibilities Develop and implement a scope and sequence aligned with Pennsylvania Academic Standards and Keystone Assessment Anchors for Physics. Create weekly lesson plans aligned with state standards, district curriculum, and APS instructional expectations. Deliver rigorous instruction in physics concepts, including motion, forces, energy, electricity, magnetism, waves, and modern physics. Incorporate laboratory investigations, demonstrations, and hands-on learning experiences to support student understanding. Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Grade assignments, assessments, laboratory reports, and projects, providing timely and meaningful feedback. Analyze student performance data to inform instruction and support student growth. Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff regarding academic progress and expectations. Collaborate with grade-level teams, department members, ESL teachers, and Special Education teachers. Build and maintain positive relationships with students that support a safe and productive learning environment. Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and after-school events as required. Ensure the safety and well-being of students during classroom and laboratory activities. Maintain accurate records and comply with all school and district policies.
