Salary The management services offered to our family of charter schools, allows us to collectively become a change agent and national leader in urban education as evidenced by student awareness of self, high academic achievement, positive school culture and community transformation wherever we serve. Essential Functions The Science Content Teacher (Grades 9-12) will create a warm and welcoming school culture that is driven by student achievement, growth, and commitment to students in an urban environment.
Responsibilities:
Implement Universal's curriculum and instructional strategies and utilize classroom routines and procedures with consistency. Develop rigorous lesson plans, homework assignments and assessments. Work closely with school leaders to analyze student assessment data and use data to inform instruction. Collaborate in grade level teams to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student mastery of standards. Form and maintain relationships with students' families, including phone calls and conferences. Participate in on-going professional development in the spirit of continuous improvement. Perform related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Valid PA Certification Bachelor's degree

A positive attitude and a drive for personal excellence Outstanding instructional skills, including the ability to motivate and challenge students and maintain an orderly classroom. Demonstrates commitment to Universal's mission and success. Models professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community. Participates in training and professional development activities. Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating with peers. Abides by applicable Universal Companies policies and procedures and state and federal education regulations. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
