Job Description
About us: Sage Test Prep has been serving students for over 15 years, with locations in Flushing, Bayside, Little Neck, and Jericho. We offer a comprehensive range of services, including afterschool programs, school subject tutoring, and test preparation for exams such as the SHSAT, SAT, APs, MCAT, and LSAT as well as national competitions. We also have a research program, computer classes, and college consulting. Our mission is to support students academically and guide them toward admission into their desired high schools and colleges. More info at Position Overview We are seeking a certified high school Chemistry teacher to teach small group classes and provide one-on-one tutoring in Flushing, Bayside, Little Neck, and/or Jericho. The ideal candidate is experienced, engaging, and able to break down complex concepts in a clear and structured way. Responsibilities Teach high school Chemistry (Regents, Honors, and/or AP level) Conduct small group classes and 1:1 tutoring sessions Prepare lesson plans, practice materials, and homework assignments Track student progress and provide feedback to students and parents Help students prepare for exams (Regents, school tests, AP exams) Adapt teaching style based on each student's needs and learning pace Qualifications Valid NYS Teaching Certification in Chemistry (required) Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Education, or related field (Master's preferred) Prior teaching or tutoring experience at the high school level Strong communication and classroom management skills Ability to explain concepts clearly and keep students engaged Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching Regents Chemistry and/or AP Chemistry Familiarity with NYS curriculum and exam formats Experience working in tutoring centers or test prep settings How to
