Teaching Full Job Description Purpose Statement:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to join our vibrant school community at West Bay Christian Academy. This full-time role includes teaching one or more middle school math classes. This role offers the opportunity to inspire young minds while integrating biblical principles into the science curriculum, fostering both academic and spiritual growth. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, interactive classroom environment where learning is both effective and fun, helping students develop a deep understanding of scientific concepts while encouraging them to see the world through a biblical perspective. Full-time Responsibilities and Duties:
Demonstrate an understanding of the curriculum, subject content and the developmental needs of students by providing relevant learning experiences Implement daily lesson plans that engage and motivate students Integrate Biblical principles with curriculum, instruction, relationships, discipline and the entire school community Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning learning activities Have a willingness to perform hands-on experiments with students Demonstrate knowledge of lab safety procedures in dealing with situations in which accidents could happen Use various tools to assess the growth and achievement of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students Assist in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials Attend staff meetings and participate in school-wide events and activities Invest in professional growth and development
Minimum Requirements:
Committed Christian, aligned with the Academy's Mission and Statement of Faith, actively attending a local church Bachelor's Degree Commitment to a Christian Philosophy of Education Possesses the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff and other outside agencies or local school districts
PreferredCredentials and Experience:
Current RI Science Teacher Certification ACSI Certification Prior classroom teaching experience College credits in biblical studies Success in this role will be evidenced when: Students are experiencing academic growth evidenced through daily classroom work and progress monitoring The teacher and parents are collaborating and working well together on behalf of each student Responsibilities for this role are being met at a high level as demonstrated through the teacher development process Qualified applicants, please email a cover letter and resume and complete our online employment application found on our website.
