In this role, you will deliver engaging science lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for discovery. You will create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages exploration of scientific concepts across various disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences. Your expertise will help students develop a solid understanding of scientific principles while nurturing their problem-solving skills and scientific inquiry. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for middle school science education Deliver interactive lessons covering topics such as cell biology, genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and earth sciences Incorporate learning technology and instructional design techniques to enhance student engagement and understanding Conduct laboratory experiments, dissections, and research projects to provide hands-on scientific experience Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and classroom participation Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to inquiry and collaboration Provide academic advising and mentoring to support individual student needs and foster their scientific curiosity Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and participate in professional development activities related to science education Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with parents and guardians Support students with special education needs by adapting lessons and classroom management strategies accordingly Experience Prior classroom experience teaching middle school science or related age groups is preferred Strong knowledge of scientific disciplines including biology (cell biology, genetics, microbiology), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (trigonometry, calculus, differential equations), and mathematics (algebra, geometry) Experience with laboratory procedures such as dissection, microscopy, research laboratory work, and safety protocols Familiarity with curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies for diverse learners Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively while fostering a stimulating learning environment Experience working with students from varied backgrounds including those requiring special education accommodations or behavioral management support Knowledge of learning technology tools used in modern classrooms to enhance instruction and student engagement Higher education teaching experience or certification in science education is advantageous Skills in proofreading educational materials and developing lesson plans that meet academic standards Join us in inspiring the next generation of scientists!
