Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic High School Science Teacher to inspire curiosity and foster a love of learning in young students. This role offers an exciting opportunity to deliver engaging lessons in life sciences. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to nurturing academic growth, developing innovative curriculum, promoting Christian values and faith, and creating a stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and critical thinking. This position is integral to shaping the educational and spiritual journey of middle school learners and supporting their development into confident, inquisitive thinkers. Responsibilities Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards for math and science subjects. Deliver engaging instruction addressing Tennessee state standards in math and science. Utilize learning technology tools to enhance student understanding and facilitate interactive lessons. Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and class participation; provide timely feedback to support improvement. Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a positive learning environment that promotes respect and collaboration. Develop innovative instructional strategies tailored to diverse learning styles and needs, including special education accommodations if necessary. Mentor students individually or in groups to support academic achievement and personal growth; provide tutoring as needed. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and participate in school activities related to education administration and academic advising. Incorporate research-based practices from scientific research and laboratory experiences to enrich science instruction. Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with parents or guardians regularly. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Biology, or a related field; advanced degrees in Education preferred. Alignment in morals and values with the statement of faith. Teacher licensure for middle school grades 9-12 science Proven classroom experience teaching middle school students with a strong background in math and science disciplines. In-depth knowledge of life and environmental science topics. Extensive understanding of scientific subjects such as biology (cell biology, genetics), microbiology (microbiology), environmental science, molecular biology (molecular biology), and laboratory experience, including dissection techniques. Familiarity with learning technology platforms and instructional design for effective lesson planning. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students actively and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Experience working with diverse student populations; knowledge of special education strategies is a plus. Demonstrated classroom management skills coupled with behavior management expertise. Ability to prepare students for standardized testing through targeted instruction and tutoring sessions. Prior experience in private or independent schools is advantageous; familiarity with Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus. Pay:
$42,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
