We are seeking a Science Teacher to teach 6th Grade Biology and 9th Grade Environmental Science . The ideal candidate is committed to fostering curiosity, critical thinking, & a love for science through engaging, student-centered instruction. This role is perfect for an educator who is excited to integrate outdoor learning, project-based instruction, & real-world applications into their teaching. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in Biology and Environmental Science Create a classroom culture that promotes curiosity, respect, and high expectations Incorporate hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences Utilize outdoor and experiential learning opportunities when appropriate Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary learning experiences Maintain clear and consistent communication with students, families, and staff Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field Valid teaching license (or eligibility for licensure in Tennessee) Strong content knowledge in Biology and Environmental Science Experience with project-based or experiential learning preferred Ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues Excellent communication and organizational skills I vy Academy is an equal opportunity employer.
