August 1, 2026 OVERVIEW Founded in 1950, Greenhill School is an independent, coeducational day school with more than 1,400 students in grades pre-kindergarten-12. The school is located on a 78-acre campus approximately 12 miles north of downtown Dallas. It has a national reputation for graduating highly qualified students who are well-prepared to succeed at the most competitive colleges and universities and in later life. SUMMARY The Upper School science program requires all students to complete Physics in 9th grade, Chemistry in 10th grade, and Biology in 11th grade with the opportunity for additional advanced and AP science courses. For this position, the school seeks an outstanding educator for Science with expertise in Biology and/or Environmental Science. This is a full-time, 10-month, exempt position. Some evening and weekend work is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach four courses each year in the fields of Biology, Environmental Science, and Molecular Biology, including Advanced and AP-level curricula such as AP Biology and/or AP Environmental Science. Provide students with a high-quality learning experience using progressive teaching methods including project- and inquiry-based instruction. Vary instructional techniques and learning opportunities to accommodate a variety of learning styles. Potentially direct student-driven research and capstone projects in Biology or Environmental Science. Mentor eleven to thirteen students as part of a comprehensive grade level Advisory team. Partner with the student, family, administration, and the Academic Resource Center to support students with learning differences or those experiencing challenges. Organize and curate on-line classroom material for effective in-class instruction.
QUALIFICATIONS
Have a BS in Biology, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering or related fields; MS or PhD preferred. Interdisciplinary training and experience teaching Biology, Biochemistry, AP Biology, or AP Environmental Science; Demonstrated ability to teach and develop additional science courses including Biotechnology or other Biology-related elective courses; Have a minimum of three years of experience in an independent school environment teaching Upper School science.
