Job Description
Summary Childress Junior High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science and develop critical thinking skills through engaging lessons and hands-on activities. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to the academic growth of middle school students in a supportive and collaborative environment. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and promote student engagement in scientific concepts. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for science and encourages student participation. Utilize various teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback to support their learning. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science with other subjects and participate in interdisciplinary projects. Organize and supervise laboratory experiments, ensuring safety protocols are followed. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and classroom activities. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in science education. Engage in school-wide activities and contribute to the school community through extracurricular programs and events. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field. Valid Texas teaching certification in Science for middle school level. Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and principles across various disciplines. Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to create a stimulating and safe learning environment that promotes student inquiry and discovery. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
