• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and promote student engagement in scientific concepts.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for science and encourages student participation.
• Utilize various teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects, providing timely feedback to support their learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate science with other subjects and participate in interdisciplinary projects.
• Organize and supervise laboratory experiments, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student performance and classroom activities.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in science education.
• Engage in school-wide activities and contribute to the school community through extracurricular programs and events. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Science Education or a related field.
• Valid Texas teaching certification in Science for middle school level.
• Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and principles across various disciplines.
• Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Ability to create a stimulating and safe learning environment that promotes student inquiry and discovery.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom that respects diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
