In this role, you will deliver engaging science lessons across various disciplines, including biology, chemistry, physics, and earth sciences. Your enthusiasm for scientific exploration and commitment to fostering curiosity will help students develop critical thinking skills, scientific literacy, and a lifelong love of learning. You will also support students' academic growth through innovative instructional strategies, classroom management, and personalized mentorship. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that incorporate diverse teaching methods and learning technologies. Deliver engaging lectures and laboratory activities covering topics such as cell biology, genetics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, physics principles, and environmental science. Utilize laboratory equipment and techniques including dissection, microbiology experiments, molecular biology procedures, and research laboratory experiences to enhance hands-on learning. Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments; provide constructive feedback to support improvement. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to active participation and collaboration. Mentor students in scientific research projects, tutoring sessions, or extracurricular activities; guide them through scientific research processes and library services for project development. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, lesson plans, and classroom activities; ensure compliance with educational policies and standards. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives that integrate math topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, differential equations, and proofing techniques into science instruction. Engage in ongoing professional development related to higher education teaching methods, instructional technology tools, behavior management strategies, and education administration practices. Experience Prior classroom experience teaching secondary science subjects at the high school level is preferred. Demonstrated expertise in a broad range of scientific disciplines including biology (cell biology, genetics), chemistry (organic chemistry), physics (concepts like calculus applications), microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and genetics. Proven ability to design engaging lessons using learning technology tools; experience with curriculum development and instructional design is highly valued. Strong laboratory experience with dissection techniques; familiarity with microbiology protocols; research laboratory experience is advantageous. Excellent communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring students in scientific research or standardized testing preparation, and collaborating with colleagues on educational initiatives. Knowledge of classroom management best practices combined with the ability to foster a respectful and inclusive environment conducive to active learning.
