We focus on addressing the unique challenges faced by military families through childcare, early learning, and youth development initiatives. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and passionate Science Camp Instructor to lead engaging science activities for children during summer camp sessions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire curiosity, promote hands-on learning, and create a fun educational environment for young learners. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic communicator with a love for science and working with children of diverse backgrounds. Responsibilities Plan and deliver interactive science lessons and experiments tailored to various age groups Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity and exploration Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques Ensure all activities adhere to safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary Collaborate with team members to develop age-appropriate curriculum materials and activities Support children's social-emotional development through Christian counseling principles when appropriate Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians regarding camp activities and children's progress Skills Strong classroom management skills to maintain an organized and engaging learning environment Knowledge of early childhood education, childhood development, and special education needs Experience in teaching or tutoring in science or related STEM fields Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm Certification in first aid and CPR preferred; training provided if necessary Background in childcare, daycare, or camp programming is highly desirable Excellent behavior management skills to handle diverse student needs confidently Experience Experience in working with children ages 5 - 12 Background in Science education or related field (preferred) Ability to engage children in hands on activities
Pay:
$15.00 - $22.00 per hour
