In this role, you will create engaging lesson plans, facilitate hands-on activities, and support students' academic growth across math and science subjects. Your enthusiasm for education, combined with your ability to connect with children, will help cultivate a positive classroom environment where every student feels motivated to excel. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in math and science for 5th-grade students. Use innovative teaching methods, including learning technology tools, to enhance student engagement and understanding. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparation. Provide individualized support and tutoring to students needing extra help in literacy education, math, or science concepts. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, early childhood education strategies, and special education accommodations. Mentor students by fostering social-emotional skills, encouraging curiosity, and supporting their overall well-being. Incorporate elements of physical education when appropriate to promote a healthy balance of academics and activity. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral observations in compliance with education administration standards. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and upcoming classroom activities. Skills Proven experience working with children in a classroom setting. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies. Excellent communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues alike. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, proofreading educational materials, and integrating learning technology tools. Ability to adapt teaching methods for students with diverse needs, including those with autism or requiring special education services. Skilled in classroom management techniques that promote a respectful and productive learning environment. Experience in literacy education, math instruction, science exploration, and standardized testing preparation. Demonstrated ability to mentor students academically and socially while fostering a love for learning. Writing skills necessary for creating clear lesson plans, assessments, reports, and educational content. Knowledge of library services or resources that support student research projects or independent learning initiatives.
