PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CFISD EMPLOYEES. QUALIFICATIONS
1. Master's degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university; 2. Valid Texas administrator's/principal certification; 3. Minimum of four (4) years of successful experience as a science classroom teacher; 4. Preference is given to applicants with experience in grades 7 - 12 science; 5.

Commitment to life-long learning that supports high-quality first-time instruction, including the use of technology; Ability to develop and write curriculum; Ability to lead professional learning; Ability to manage data; 6. Demonstrated skills in leading, motivating, and cooperating with other teachers, campus administrators, and district personnel.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Probationary/Term Contract:
220 days
SALARY:
$76,684 (IA 4) Salary Range (based on experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Coordinate the development, review, and update of secondary science programs and related curriculum documents and materials, including curriculum guides, course outlines, scopes and sequences, and grading plans. Work cooperatively with campus principals and curriculum and instruction department members in developing and supervising the secondary science instructional programs. Work with teacher committees to determine priority objectives in science. Work with appropriate instructional personnel to establish district standards for acceptable levels of student achievement in secondary science. Obtain and use evaluative findings (including student achievement data) to examine curriculum and instruction program effectiveness for secondary science. Provide training for teachers in areas related to improving student learning. Plan and provide staff development for teachers, administrators, and staff in secondary science. Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation. Participate in the purchase, use, care, and replacement of materials and equipment. Evaluate and monitor the science safety program in secondary schools. Assist with the adoption of textbooks in secondary science courses. Collaborate with the Office of Advanced Academics and Lone Star College to support dual credit science opportunities for students. Participate in the design of new and renovated science classrooms in middle and high schools. Participate actively in professional science teacher associations and encourage participation of other science teachers. Supervise secondary science coaches and instructional specialists. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, and Directors of HS and MS Curriculum and Instruction. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
