Classification Title:
Adjunct - Laboratory Technology Instructor (Pool)
Department:
Chemical Technology Physical Demands:
Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Reports to the Division Chair of Physical Sciences and Process Technologies Teaches Laboratory Technology classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Chemistry, Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or an Associate's Degree in Chemical Technology from a regionally accredited college Minimum of three years of industrial experience Experience developing and delivering online courses; training in, and application of, online instruction standards such as SBEC or the North American Council for Online Learning Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations; Excellent written and oral communication skills Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institution Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met
Desirable Qualifications:
Three years of laboratory experience desirable Bilingual language skills preferred
