Ranger College (Assigned Campus Location) Position Summary Ranger College seeks a qualified and student-focused Adjunct Chemistry Instructor to provide high-quality instruction in chemistry courses. The adjunct instructor will be responsible for teaching assigned lecture and laboratory courses, maintaining accurate student records, fostering student engagement, and supporting the mission of the College. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to student success, academic excellence, and collaborative learning. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach assigned chemistry courses in accordance with approved course syllabi and learning outcomes. Prepare and deliver effective classroom and laboratory instruction. Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student learning and progress. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance. Submit grades and required reports by established deadlines. Ensure laboratory activities comply with safety regulations and best practices. Maintain and secure laboratory equipment, chemicals, and instructional materials. Provide timely feedback and academic support to students. Utilize instructional technology and the College's learning management system. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours as required by the department. Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities, and training as requested. Support the College's mission, vision, and values. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Chemistry; or Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Chemistry from a regionally accredited institution. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and communicate complex scientific concepts. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to use educational technology and learning management systems. Preferred Qualifications Previous college-level teaching experience. Experience teaching chemistry laboratories. Familiarity with community college students and diverse learning populations. Experience with online and hybrid instruction. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of general chemistry principles and laboratory techniques. Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. Strong commitment to student learning and academic success. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods while teaching. Ability to demonstrate laboratory procedures and safely handle chemicals and equipment. Ability to lift and move laboratory supplies and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to work in a laboratory environment while following all safety protocols.
