Biological Science Instructor

Snow College is seeking a dynamic, effective instructor to join our Department of Biological Sciences. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about active, student-centered learning, use current best practices in the classroom and lab, and motivate students to reach their educational goals while maintaining an appropriately rigorous curriculum. This position will begin in the Fall semester 2026. Qualifications for a one-year contract (Instructor/Assistant Professor): Candidates must have a MS in Biology, or closely related field, or a PhD in Biology or closely related field, with 2+ years of higher education instruction in the biology discipline highly recommended. If selected, MS candidates will be brought in at the Instructor level rather than at the Assistant Professor level.

The successful candidate will:

Teach biology courses and laboratory sections. Human Biology course and lab Human Anatomy course and lab Experience with human cadavers as an instructional method and skilled with dissection of human cadavers Facilitate and work with student teaching assistants Develop and teach online Human Anatomy and Human Physiology course and lab Will need to complete online teaching certification through Snow College Additional courses as needed by the department, school, or college Use student-focused instruction practices that inspire students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds to put forth their best efforts in both the lecture classroom, the lab classroom, and online classroom Write, speak, and prepare presentations in English with fluency and clarity Be eligible to work legally in the United States without sponsorship Full-time faculty are expected to teach 15 credit hour equivalencies per semester. In addition to the courses listed above, faculty may also teach honors or special topics courses on areas of personal interest. These courses may be taught face-to-face, online, or via interactive video conferencing (IVC). This is a non-research, teaching-focused position Faculty work on a nine-month contract for Fall and Spring semesters and do not have work responsibilities during the summer. Faculty benefits such as health and vision insurance are maintained all 12 months of the year. At the faculty's discretion, additional teaching load is available during the summer for additional overload compensation.
