Herriman, UT Job Details Part-time $21,000 - $30,000 a year 13 hours ago Qualifications School experience Teamwork Interpersonal skills Teaching Certification Employee relationship building Time management Full Job Description Overview Salt Lake Academy is seeking a passionate and engaging Science Teacher to join our team on a part-time (.5 PTE) basis. This position will teach 3-4 sections of junior high science and is ideal for an educator who enjoys working with middle school students in a collaborative, student-centered environment and requires flexibility in their schedule. Duties Teach 3-4 sections of junior high science (grades 7-8). Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Utah Core Standards. Create and implement assessments to monitor student learning and growth. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Maintain a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment. Communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff. Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student records. Collaborate with colleagues and administration to support student success. Skills Strong classroom management and student engagement skills Knowledge of middle school science curriculum and instructional best practices Ability to develop engaging, hands-on, inquiry-based science lessons Effective communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues Strong organizational and time management skills Experience differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs Proficiency with educational technology and learning management systems Data-driven decision making and student progress monitoring Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to a positive school culture Ability to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment Flexibility, adaptability, and problem-solving skills Qualifications Current Utah Educator License or ability to obtain appropriate licensure. Science endorsement preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Experience teaching middle school or junior high students preferred.
