Job Description

Job Summary Salt Lake Academy is a public charter school serving students in grades K-8. Our mission is to provide a rigorous academic program in a supportive, relationship-centered environment where students are known, challenged, and inspired to succeed. We pride ourselves on small-school culture, strong family partnerships, dedicated educators, and a commitment to helping every student thrive academically and personally. We are seeking a passionate and collaborative full-time Math & Science Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position will primarily serve students in grades 7-8 , teaching a combination of math and science sections. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about both subject areas, enjoys working with middle school students, and is committed to creating engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Duties Teach 7th and 8th grade math and science courses. Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction. Create lessons that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and student inquiry. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Develop and administer assessments to monitor student progress. Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and student records. Establish and maintain a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment. Communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues. Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and administration. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school activities. Qualifications Current Utah Educator License or ability to obtain appropriate licensure. Endorsement in Mathematics, Science, or a related field preferred. Experience teaching middle school students preferred. Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities. Commitment to student growth, academic excellence, and collaboration.
