This job posting will be used for two upcoming vacancies:
Lake Taylor High School:
Fill Date 07/01/2026
Granby High School:
Fill Date 12/01/2026 Full-Time and Permanent; Exempt; 8 Hours/Day; 240 Days/Year; 12 Months/Year Minimum Qualifications Naval Science Instructor (NSI) Associate's Degree required or plan to obtain an Associate's Degree within five (5) years of employment as an NSI in accordance with NJROTC requirements. Must meet NJROTC certification and eligibility requirements established by the U.S. Navy. Nature of Position Teaching a multi-subject 3 or 4-year curriculum. Instructing in military drill. Counseling students in the NJROTC program. Requiring NJROTC cadets to conduct themselves in a military manner at all times when under naval supervision. Ensuring NJROTC cadets observe the chain-of-command and naval traditions. Writing and updating lesson plans for the NJROTC curriculum. Maintaining accountability of government furnished equipment and materials. Planning extracurricular NJROTC activities including drill meets, ceremonies, field trips, and leadership training. Preparing reports on program administration and logistics. Attending Navy-sponsored training to remain current on requirements. Recruiting students into the NJROTC program. Maintaining financial accounts and reimbursement documentation. Informing the public of NJROTC activities and achievements. Ensuring the safety and well-being of cadets at all times. Ensuring non-discriminatory practices toward cadets.
SALARY:
Salary for NSIs is based on the Minimum Instructor Pay (MIP) Sructure for NJROTC Instructors.
