We are a small learning community where students are deeply known and learning is connected to real-world experiences, identity, collaboration, movement, storytelling, environmental learning, and community partnerships. This is not a traditional classroom role. We are looking for someone who is adaptable, collaborative, culturally grounded, and excited to help shape a growing learning model alongside the founders. Position Overview The Learning Lab Educator will: Teach interdisciplinary middle grades subjects with a strong emphasis on math, science, literacy, and project-based learning Design engaging learning experiences that connect academics to real-world issues and student interests Create learning experiences that honor students' identities, lived experiences, cultures, and voices Foster a positive classroom culture centered on belonging, curiosity, collaboration, and social-emotional growth Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of learners Collaborate closely with founders on curriculum, student support, and learning systems Help build relationships with community partners, guest speakers, and organizations that can expand student learning opportunities Support student exhibitions, presentations, and project documentation Use technology and digital tools to support instruction and student engagement Communicate regularly with families and contribute to the growth of the learning lab community Qualifications Strong candidates may have: Experience teaching or facilitating learning with middle grades students Experience with project-based, experiential, inquiry-based, or alternative education models Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills A collaborative, flexible, and growth-oriented mindset Interest in culturally grounded and community-centered education Ability to creatively teach across disciplines and adapt instruction to student needs Teaching licensure is welcome but not required. Experience in microschools, homeschool collaboratives, youth development, arts education, environmental education, or community-based learning environments is highly valued.
