THIS IS A CONTINUING POSITION FOR THE 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR. NOTE
This position is open to qualified CERSD employees from April 28 - May 4th, 2026. Applications submitted outside the district will not be considered until May 5th, 2026. First round of interviews may be schedule with selected candidates during the week of May 11th. This position is opened until filled.
Definition of Position:
Cle Elum-Roslyn School District is searching for a high quality teacher with a valid Washington State Teaching Certificated in Science. This position is currently teaching Middle School Science, but with the expectation of teaching some 6-12 Science in the future. Certified teachers carry out the position performance requirements essential to provide the necessary services to assigned boys and girls in the Cle Elum-Roslyn School District. The individual in this position will play a critical role not only in the education of our youth, but also in the continual evaluation and improvement of curriculum and continual improvement of teaching and learning strategies.

Required Qualifications:
BA degree and possess a Washington State Teaching Certificate with a 6-12 Science Endorsement. Documented successful and effective teaching, substitute teaching and/or student teaching experience. Technical and working knowledge of Washington State learning standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Documented successful and effective experience working with and teaching children in reading, writing, math and sciences. Verifiable successful experience working with and/or teaming with other adults/teachers. Preferance given to candidcates with multiple endorsements in Science and Mathematics. Understanding of or experience with character education programs, PBIS, Character Strong or other similar culture building programs. Prior experience or familiar with MTSS. Masters Degree and teaching endorsements in English, Language Arts, Reading, Spanish, Math and/or Science, in addition to the endorsement(s) are welcome. Demonstration of standardized grading practices. Demonstration of effective unit and lesson design with effective assessment & tiered intervention strategies. CTE Credential or willingness to get a CTE Credential.
Essential Job Related Activities:
Knowledge of the Washington State learning standards for grades and subjects to be taught. Identify the learning needs of individual students. Establish learning objectives and outcomes consistent with individual pupil's learning needs and the Washington State grade level learning standards. Select and/or create instructional lessons to appropriately support district-adopted and supplementary learning resources. Plan and develop a variety of instructional experiences appropriate to the specified learning objectives and outcomes. Conduct an effective instructional plan for individual or small group. Integrate technology into the curriculum. Differentiate instruction for a wide variety of student learning. Assess pupils' achievement and use that assessment data to inform instruction. Maintain accurate records of student information and assessment data with the ability to access the information readily as needed or as requested. Maintain effective communication with staff and families. Organize the physical setting of the classroom so it contributes to learning and keep classroom materials well organized. Provide a climate conducive to student learning. Develop and maintain clear standards for student conduct with appropriate disciplinary plans. Understand and practice contemporary pedagogical practices such as developmentally appropriate practices, contextual teaching, integrated curriculum, inclusion practices, classroom based assessment, alternative assessment practices, individualized programs, global/multi-cultural education, differentiated instruction, and integration of Washington State learning standards with current curricular materials. Remain pedagogically current through continuing professional development. Communicate effectively using district supported print and electronic media and related applications. Subscribe to the professional code of ethics for educators. Maintain an understanding of Affirmative Action, Title IX, and handicapped regulations. Possess and practice strong interpersonal skills with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the organization (staff, parents, community members, other agencies). Be a positive professional team member who works in a collaborative manner. Meet multiple demands in pressure situations and maintain high levels of quality work. Maintain strict confidentiality of student information; know and abide by FERPA rules. Communicate clearly; orally and in writing. Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance, actions, decisions, and overall performance. Work with minimal supervision and be flexible.

Retirement:
Two plan choices available with DRS, Plan 2 and Plan 3.
Salary:
Based off the CEREA Salary Schedule and depending on verified years of experience, clock hours, and education and the start of the contract for the current year. Current Salary is for the 2025-2026 School Year. IPD will be added for the 26-27 school year and will be shown once confirmed.
Start Date:
August 31st, 2026 with new hire orientation to be in August. Dates should be finalized for new hire orientation by June 2026.

•Benefits through SEBB is determined by the number of hours an employee is anticipated to work during the school year. Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a school year (September 1 through August 31) is eligible for benefits.
