Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Middle & High School Science Teacher to inspire the next generation of scientists and critical thinkers. In this role, you will deliver engaging science lessons across various disciplines, fostering curiosity and a love for discovery among students. You will create a stimulating learning environment that encourages inquiry, experimentation, and scientific exploration, preparing students for higher education and future careers in STEM fields. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to shape young minds while utilizing your expertise in science education. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, incorporating innovative teaching methods and learning technology to enhance student engagement. Deliver lessons in subjects including biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics such as algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, discrete math, and differential equations. Design assessments and standardized tests to evaluate student understanding and progress; provide constructive feedback to support academic growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive learning environment conducive to participation and collaboration. Mentor students through tutoring sessions, academic advising, and individualized support to foster their scientific curiosity and academic success. Incorporate laboratory activities such as dissection, microbiology experiments, biochemistry projects, molecular biology techniques, genetics investigations, and research laboratory experiences to reinforce theoretical concepts with practical application. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional design, and integrating research-based practices to continuously improve teaching effectiveness. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education with a focus on Science or a related field; advanced degrees or higher education teaching experience preferred. Proven classroom experience teaching middle or high school science courses; private school experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of scientific disciplines including cell biology, microbiology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and related research methodologies. Proficiency in using learning technology tools for instruction and assessment purposes. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students of diverse backgrounds and learning needs. Demonstrated classroom management skills combined with behavior management strategies tailored for different age groups. Experience with lesson planning, curriculum development, standardized testing preparation, proofreading educational materials, and instructional design. Ability to work collaboratively within an educational team while mentoring students individually or in small groups. Familiarity with special education practices or other alternative educational approaches is advantageous. Join us in inspiring young minds through innovative science education! Pay:
$27,500.00 - $35,000.00 per year
