Computational Thinking/Computer Science Teacher - Upper School
SEATTLE ACADEMY

Seattle Academy is seeking a Computational Thinking/Computer Science teacher to join our faculty starting in August 2026 . The ideal candidate will have teaching experience as well as a solid technical background in software and Computer Science methodologies. We value and will also consider candidates with comparable and relevant professional and technical work experience outside of academia. Preferred experience would include project-based learning, differentiated instruction, programming in multiple languages, and an applied math or science background. The candidate will be instrumental in teaching a curriculum that instills complex problem-solving, design thinking, and student-centered learning of program languages. Key characteristics for the person in this position include: Ability to work in various development environments, using debugging tools and using external libraries. A growth mindset with a passion for your subject matter and an engaging learning environment; Desire, interest, and enthusiasm for working with high school-aged students; A willingness to incorporate social-emotional learning competencies (social awareness, relationship skills, self-awareness, self-management, responsible decision-making) and project-based learning into the subject matter; Strong organizational and communication abilities; Ability to work effectively with all constituent groups - teachers, parents, students, and administrative teams; Experience with addressing student behavior in a classroom setting Creative and imaginative problem-solver.
