Job Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Seasonal Chess Instructor to inspire learners of all ages through the strategic game of chess. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and concentration skills in a dynamic educational environment. As a key team member, you will deliver engaging lessons, manage classroom activities, and create a positive learning atmosphere that encourages growth and enjoyment of chess. Your passion for teaching and working with students will help cultivate a love for the game while developing their strategic and cognitive abilities. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging chess lessons tailored to different age groups and skill levels, from beginners to advanced players Manage classroom activities effectively, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment for all students Provide individualized tutoring to help students improve their game strategies and understanding of chess concepts Foster a positive learning atmosphere by encouraging participation, sportsmanship, and critical thinking skills Monitor student progress through assessments and provide constructive feedback to support their development Maintain organized lesson plans, attendance records, and activity logs in accordance with program guidelines Communicate regularly with students, parents, and program coordinators about student progress and upcoming activities Experience Prior experience teaching or tutoring children or adults in an educational setting is highly preferred Classroom management skills to maintain order and engagement during lessons Strong communication skills to clearly explain chess concepts and facilitate discussions Experience working with diverse age groups and skill levels in classroom or extracurricular settings Familiarity with chess strategies, rules, and tournament play is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided if needed Demonstrated ability to motivate students, foster teamwork, and create an inclusive learning environment This paid seasonal role is perfect for individuals passionate about education, chess, and inspiring learners.
