Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Epee Coach to inspire and develop young athletes in the K-12 age group. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to foster a passion for fencing, promote physical activity, and build character through sport. The ideal candidate will bring energy, expertise, and a commitment to nurturing students' skills in a supportive environment. As an Epee Coach, you will lead fencing training sessions, teach proper technique, and instill sportsmanship while ensuring a safe and engaging experience for all participants. Responsibilities Design and implement engaging fencing training programs focused on epee techniques suitable for K-12 students Teach fundamental skills such as stance, footwork, blade work, and tactical strategies specific to epee fencing Supervise practice sessions and competitions, ensuring safety protocols are strictly followed Provide individualized coaching to help students improve their skills and confidence in fencing Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive behavior among all participants Maintain equipment, ensure proper use of fencing gear including masks, weapons, and protective pads Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff regarding progress and upcoming events Requirements Prior experience in sports coaching or teaching physical education, preferably with fencing or martial arts such as karate or judo Knowledge of epee fencing techniques and training methods specific to youth athletes Lifeguard experience or AED operation certification is a plus for safety awareness Strong communication skills to motivate students and collaborate with school personnel Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or recreational setting Background in sports-specific training instruction such as swimming, cheerleading, climbing or health club experience is advantageous Ability to manage behavior effectively and create an inclusive environment conducive to learning and fun This paid role offers a rewarding chance to shape young athletes' sporting journeys while promoting healthy lifestyles.
