Job Description
Seeking energetic and positive Rugby Camp Instructors to lead youth players in a recreational rugbyprogram and camp. Coaches will focus on building basic skills, teaching the rules of the game, andpromoting teamwork and confi dence in a safe, non-contact or low-contact environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead fun, structured sessions introducing rugby fundamentals (passing, positioning, movement). Foster a positive and inclusive team environment. Adapt coaching methods to be age-appropriate (ages 6-14) Encourage teamwork, confi dence, and sportsmanship. Ensure safety by following appropriate warm-up, cooldown, and injury prevention practices. Communicate clearly with players, parents, and staff Set up and clean up equipment before and after sessions.
Minimum age:
16. Passion for rugby and youth development. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player. CPR/First Aid certifi cation (or willingness to obtain). Seasonal position with initial commitment to the following camp sessions: June 29 - July 2 (AM and PM camps) July 27-31 (AM and PM camps) Possibility of other coaching opportunities may arise. Prior coaching or playing experience preferred. Certification in youth rugby coaching (preferred but not required). Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity. Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings. Work may occur in environments with poor acoustics, distractions, or high activity levels. Physical Activity(s): Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks. Ability to maintain balance and coordination while assisting with physical activities or working on uneven terrain. Duties may require sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time. Ability to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies. Ability to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children or participants.
