Department Field House Opening Date 05/14/2026 Closing Date 6/14/2026 5:00 PM Mountain Position Summary, Duties and Responsibilities Seeking knowledgeable and motivating Speed & Agility Instructors to lead performance-based training for youth athletes. The instructor will focus on developing movement fundamentals, coordination, acceleration, and injury-prevention techniques in a safe, encouraging environment. Key Responsibilities:
Lead structured training sessions focusing on sprint mechanics, footwork, balance, and coordination. Design age-appropriate drills that improve athletic performance across sports. Teach safe technique and movement habits to reduce injury risk. Create a supportive, goal-oriented environment that promotes individual growth. Track athlete progress and adjust training as needed. Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and program staff. Seasonal position with initial commitment to the following camp sessions: June 15-19 (AM and PM camps) June 29 - July 2 (AM and PM camps) July 27-31 (AM and PM camps) Possibility of other coaching opportunities may arise. Job Qualifications Minimum age:
18. Background in athletic training, sports performance, or kinesiology. Excellent communication and leadership skills. CPR/First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain). Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly wage/stipend based on experience. Gain hands-on coaching experience in a recreational setting. Make a positive impact by helping young athletes develop a love for the game. Education and Experience Prior experience working with youth in a training or coaching role. Certification in strength & conditioning or athletic performance required (e.g., NASM-PES, CSCS, ISSA, or similar). Work Environment Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings. Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity. Physical Activity(s) Able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday, performing both active supervision and hands-on tasks. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or sit on the floor as needed during activities or tasks. Ability to maintain balance and coordination while assisting with physical activities or working on uneven terrain. Duties may require sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time. Ability to monitor participants, ensure safety, and respond to signals or emergencies. Able to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children or participants. Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking loudly, when necessary, in noisy or outdoor environments.
