Your enthusiasm and expertise will foster a positive learning environment, promoting physical fitness, self-defense techniques, and character building. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to share your passion for martial arts while making a meaningful impact on our community's health and well-being. Duties Lead engaging Taekwondo classes for children and adults, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed. Develop customized training plans to meet individual student goals and skill levels. Demonstrate martial arts techniques, including kicks, punches, blocks, forms (poomsae), sparring, and self-defense moves. Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and motivate participants to achieve their personal best. Maintain a safe training environment by enforcing behavior management policies and ensuring equipment safety. Collaborate with other sports coaches and instructors to integrate martial arts into broader physical education programs. Organize belt testing sessions, competitions, and special events to encourage student engagement and achievement. Qualifications Proven experience in Taekwondo or other martial arts disciplines such as Karate or Judo. Strong background in sports coaching, teaching, or working with students of various ages. Lifeguard experience or certifications are a plus, demonstrating safety awareness in active environments. Knowledge of physical education principles including swimming, climbing, cheerleading, basketball, or gymnastics is advantageous. Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage behavior effectively and foster a positive classroom atmosphere. Prior childcare or health club experience preferred; familiarity with gym equipment is beneficial. Passion for teaching martial arts combined with a proactive attitude and enthusiasm for motivating learners.
