Job Description

Iowa Valley CSD is looking for a energetic JH Boys Track Coach for the Spring of 2026-2027 School Year. Applicant must have a Iowa Coaching License, Concussion Training, & CPR Certificate. Applicant needs to be well versed in track and field events and ready to keep athletes motivated. A Junior High Boys Track Coach instructs student-athletes in fundamental skills, techniques, and safety protocols for track and field events. They design practice plans, promote sportsmanship, foster personal growth, supervise meets, and manage equipment. Coaches also maintain communication with parents and administrators while monitoring academic eligibility and student safety.
Key Responsibilities Practice Management:
Develop and implement daily practice plans focusing on technique, warm-ups, and condition-building for various events.
Skill Development:
Instruct athletes on the fundamentals of sprints, hurdles, distance running, jumps, and throws.
Safety and Supervision:
Ensure safety in all activities, including in the locker room and proper techniques for field events.
Meet Organization:
Supervise team travel, warm-ups, and participation at track meets.
Communication:
Maintain open communication with parents, staff, athletic directors, and athletes regarding schedules and team expectations.
Mentorship:
Instill sportsmanship, self-discipline, and school spirit while fostering a positive environment. Build foundational skills and technical knowledge to prepare athletes for high school competition. Improve student fitness and foster a lifelong passion for physical activity. Emphasize academic performance and promote positive, ethical, and respectful behavior.
