Summer Camp Educator- STRÖ
VA Program Location:
Downtown Boise Hub (510 S 11th St)Pay Range:
$16.00- $18.
Status:
Part-Time, Seasonal (Summer)Shifts:
Monday- Friday | Morning (8:15 AM
- 12:30 PM) or Afternoon (1:00 PM
- 5:00 PM) About STRÖVA Named after the Swedish word for "to roam," STRÖVA is a downtown Boise summer camp for curious kids in grades K-6.
Key Responsibilities Lead Expeditions:
Guide groups of children (pre-K-6th grade) on daily walks to the Greenbelt, local parks, museums, and civic spaces.Facilitate Learning:
Implement weekly-themed curriculum involving "Urban Labs," "Maker Sessions," and nature-based art.Foster Community:
Lead "Morgonsamling" (Morning Circle) and "Fika" (snack/reflection time), ensuring every child feels a sense of belonging and "Hygge."Safety & Logistics:
Maintain high safety standards while navigating downtownBoise Encourage Resilience:
Support children as they build grit and adaptability through outdoor play in various weather conditions.Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Lead Educator and Hub staff to ensure smooth transitions between morning and afternoon sessions.Qualifications Experience:
Previous experience working with elementary-aged children (K-6) in a camp, school, or childcare setting. Passion for theOutdoors:
A genuine love for nature and a "no such thing as bad weather" attitude.Active Lifestyle:
Ability to walk several miles a day and remain active on your feet for the duration of a 4-hour shift.Communication:
Strong interpersonal skills to engage with children, parents, and local community partners.Values:
