Lead Teacher Sunflower Learning Community Wichita, KS Job Details Part-time $15 - $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Classroom experience Teaching Full Job Description About the Company Sunflower Learning Community is a place where kids and adults can follow their curiosity, ask questions, and embrace lifelong learning. Rooted in Charlotte Mason and Montessori philosophies, we offer alternative education programs for students and families. About the Position We are hiring Lead Teachers for our Wednesday programs, serving students ages 6-14 years old for the following subjects: Reading/Phonics (for beginning readers) Math Nature Study/Natural History Foreign Language (any) Handicrafts (ex. Sewing, knitting, woodcarving, etc) Visual Arts (ex. watercolor, pastels, clay, etc) Movement (ex. Yoga, folk dance, Swedish drill, etc) Singing (Solfa or other) Drama Geography Plutarch/Citizenship Chess Club Subject-specific teachers will provide instruction to students ages 6-14, separated into two smaller groups. Duties Plan engaging, literature-based and hands-on lessons rooted in Mason and/or Montessori methods Build supportive and respectful relationships with students Promote an organized classroom environment that allows every student to learn Manage students engaging in a variety of activities Communicate supply needs to director in a timely manner Attend staff workshops (monthly) Requirements Familiarity with Mason or Montessori methods Experience teaching (traditional classroom or homeschool) Kind and compassionate demeanor toward children Benefits Reduced tuition for your children to attend classes
Pay:
