Skate School Positions - Braemar Arena

Braemar Ice Arena is now seeking applications for the Skate School Program. The following part-time positions are available: Skate School Instructor Skate School Program Assistant I These positions will assist or instruct skating lessons in a variety of levels and may work evenings and weekends. Salary varies by position.

Skate School Instructor:

$ 24.24 - $29.10 Ensures a successful skating program which results in engaged skaters and program growth. This would include but no be limited to: Providing instruction in a variety of skating lesson levels. Monitoring the well-being of all participants throughout skating lessons. Ensuring that an enjoyable, safe and healthy environment exists for skating and learning. Actively participating in strategic team meetings. Represents the Braemar Skating School in communication with participants and parents. This would include Assisting with off-ice communication with parents of participants at the end of each lesson and responding to questions of concerns and at the end of the final lesson of each session to discuss class placement recommendations based on final skills assessment as needed. Communicating with the Lead Instructor and/or Program Coordinator on any patron feedback received. Protects the City's investment by assisting in daily set up and clean up duties and by enforcing all arena policies, rules and regulations. Instructs in accordance to the current progression program in place. Other duties as assigned.

Program Assistant I:

14.01 - 15.27 Ensures a successful skating program which results in engaged skaters and program growth. This would include but not limited to: Assisting with instruction in a variety of skating lesson levels. Monitoring the well-being of all participants throughout skating lessons. Ensuring that an enjoyable, safe and healthy environment exists for skating and learning. Attending team meetings. Protects the City's investment by assisting in daily set up and clean up duties and by enforcing all ice arena policies, rules and regulations. Instructs in accordance to the current progression program in place. Other duties as assigned. The Skate School Instructor should have a minimum of 3 - 5 years of lesson instruction experience. The Program Assistant I does not have to have lesson experience, but must have the excellent skating ability and knowledge of the skills being taught.

Physical Requirement:

Position requires daily lift/carry of supplies up to 10lbs. Frequent pushing/pulling, bending/kneeling/squatting, grasp and reach for assigned tasks.

This job is performed indoors within ice arena environment.
