  • Part-time, Contract Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Chess and Math Teacher to inspire students through engaging instruction in strategic thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical concepts.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster a love of learning in children and young adults by combining innovative teaching methods with a passion for education. The ideal candidate will be energetic, patient, and committed to creating a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and academic growth. This will begin as a part of our Summer Camp Curriculum and transition to afternoon and evening classes beginng in September. Duties Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans for chess and mathematics tailored to diverse student needs and skill levels. Deliver engaging lessons that incorporate modern learning technology to enhance understanding and participation. Facilitate interactive classroom activities that promote critical thinking, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a respectful, inclusive, and productive learning environment. Assess student progress regularly through quizzes, assignments, and observations; provide constructive feedback to support improvement. Adapt teaching strategies for students with special educational needs or early childhood education requirements. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and caregivers to support student development and address individual learning goals. Skills Strong background in curriculum development for chess, math, or related fields. Proficiency with learning technology tools used in modern classrooms. Proven experience in tutoring or teaching children, adolescents, or adults in academic or enrichment settings. Excellent classroom management skills to maintain an organized and positive learning environment. Effective communication skills to engage students of varying ages and backgrounds. Experience working with children in early childhood or preschool settings is a plus. Knowledge of special education strategies to support diverse learners.
