General duties/responsibilities Provide good customer service - be attentive, friendly and helpful Be knowledgeable about the SLC & Outdoor Pursuits facilities and program offerings to be able to confidently provide information to patrons Enforce Student Life Center & Outdoor Pursuits policies and procedures in a consistent manner Adhere to the department dress code (polo, athletic wear, etc.) Always carry radio and use it for work purposes and in a professional manner Be prepared to respond to emergencies/incidents Address/report problems that you see/encounter to the Building Manager on duty Arrive on time and only leave when your shift is over Follow proper procedure to find coverage when unable to attend a scheduled shift Submit payroll in a timely manner In the case of emergency, communicate with Graduate Assistant/Assistant Director Must attend required trainings and meetings throughout the semester Must be willing to work early morning, late night, and weekend shifts Complete other duties as assignedDescription:
Outdoor Pursuits Trailblazers leader Trailblazers Instructors are responsible for helping facilitate an outdoor orientation program for incoming SUNY Cortland Students. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching outdoor skills and facilitating small group expeditions including hiking, paddling, and camping and facilitating other initiative both on campus and at Camp Huntington. The course will help prepare them for college life and make meaningful connections on campus. Lead instructors will serve as the primary risk manager and point person of each small group while assistant instructors are actively involved in the decision-making process and are support to the lead instructor and students. Days/Hours Needed August 22nd-27th Campus Location/Bldg. Student Life Center Required Qualifications Must be a current SUNY Cortland student. Must hold certification inCPR / AED
/First Aid or be willing to become certified within 30 days of hire Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Must be belay certified at the SUNY Cortland Climbing Wall.
