SUNY Oneonta's Extended & Community Learning Center seeks qualified professionals from a wide range of expertise or experience to provide non-credit instruction. The Extended & Community Learning positions are appointed on a course-by-course basis, as needed. Course(s) may be scheduled during the day, evening, or weekends and depends on student or employer demands. Student enrollment thresholds must be met for the course to run. As a Community Education Instructor, you will: Educate adult students in workshop formats. Design, develop, and deliver classroom training materials.Requirements:
The instructor should be proficient in one or more of the subject areas, with relevant certification if applicable. The following is a suggested list only and a variety of other topics will be considered.Arts & Design:
art, photography, sewing and writing.Business:
starting your own business, budgeting, tax preparation, Leadership & Management Language for travel and the workplace . Spanish for healthcare for example.Culinary Arts:
cake decorating, baking, and cooking.Health & Fitness:
Pilates, Yoga, biking, CPR, First Aid, Basic Life Support.Computer Applications:
Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Microsoft Applications, QuickBooks, Social Media platforms and marketingHome Improvement:
home repairs Additional areas of focus will be considered!Desired Skills, Attributes and Qualifications:
Prior teaching experience. Experience working with and serving diverse populations. Excellent communication skills. Pay per course will vary based on enrollment. (not eligible for benefits). Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.Additional Information:
