Acro & Tumbling Instructor Charleston Elite Dance | Mount Pleasant, SC Charleston Elite Dance is hiring an Acro & Tumbling Instructor to join our growing team in Mount Pleasant, SC! We are seeking a passionate, energetic instructor who loves working with children and teens and is excited to help dancers develop strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence through acrobatic arts and tumbling. This is a great opportunity for an experienced instructor to lead both recreational and competitive students in a safe, fun, and motivating environment. You will play a key role in building strong technical foundations while helping dancers progress from beginner to advanced acro and tumbling skills. We are looking for someone who brings strong technical knowledge, positive energy, and a commitment to safety, structure, and student growth. Overview In this role, you will lead engaging acro, tumbling, and contortion classes designed to build strength, flexibility, coordination, and confidence in dancers of all ages. You will help create a positive environment where students are encouraged to challenge themselves, celebrate progress, and grow both technically and personally. This position also offers opportunities to work in a competitive and recreational setting, with potential involvement in choreography, private lessons, and special events. Responsibilities Teach structured acro, tumbling, and contortion classes for students of varying skill levels (beginner through advanced) Design progressive lesson plans that emphasize safe skill development, strength, flexibility, and proper technique Demonstrate and teach acrobatic and tumbling skills with correct spotting and safety procedures Monitor students closely to ensure safe execution of skills at all times Provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and positive behavior management Foster a supportive and motivating classroom environment Collaborate with fellow instructors and studio staff to coordinate classes, events, and performances Assist with choreography involving acro elements for classes and/or teams Availability for private lessons is preferred Requirements Proven experience teaching or performing gymnastics, acrobatics, dance, cheerleading, or tumbling Strong understanding of acro/tumbling progressions and safety standards Experience working with children and/or teens in a structured setting Strong communication and classroom management skills Ability to teach and manage diverse skill levels safely and effectively Positive, energetic, professional, and team-oriented attitude Passion for youth development through movement Preferred Qualifications Acrobatic Arts certification or equivalent acro training Experience in a dance studio, gymnastics gym, or cheer program CPR/First Aid certification Experience with competitive dance, gymnastics or acro teams Choreography experience incorporating acro and tumbling skills Private lesson instruction experience Compensation Hourly pay based on experience ($20-$35+ per hour) Additional pay opportunities available for private lessons, camps, clinics, and choreography Schedule Afternoon and evening availability required Weekend availability for events, performances, and competitions How to Apply Please submit your resume and a brief summary of your teaching or coaching experience.
