We are looking for a coach who understands that Judo is more than throws and competition. We want someone who can teach safe, technical, disciplined Judo to kids, teens, and adults in a structured academy environment. The ideal candidate is professional, reliable, mature, and able to build students from the ground up with excellent fundamentals, strong safety standards, and respect for traditional Judo culture. Position Judo Coach / Judo Program Instructor Part-Time, with growth opportunity Allen, Texas Required Qualifications Judo Black Belt IJF certification or IJF-recognized coaching credential Strong technical knowledge of throws, gripping, footwork, breakfalls, pins, submissions, and transition work Ability to teach beginners safely and progressively Experience coaching youth and/or adults Professional communication with students, parents, and staff Reliable attendance and consistent class preparation Willingness to complete background check and youth safety requirements Preferred Qualifications Experience building or helping grow a Judo program Competition background as an athlete or coach Experience working with kids ages 7+ Experience working with Adult beginners USA Judo, USJF, USJA, or similar organizational experience Ability to teach Judo in a way that supports Jiu-Jitsu, wrestling, and overall grappling development Interest in helping develop curriculum, belt standards, class structure, and student progression About the Program Our Judo program is designed to be beginner-friendly, safety-first, and technically sound. We are not looking to create a high-pressure competition-only environment. Competition may be available for the right students, but the foundation of the program is discipline, confidence, athletic development, strong fundamentals, and safe progression. Students should feel challenged, respected, and protected. Parents should feel confident that their children are learning real Judo in a structured and professional environment. Responsibilities Teach scheduled Judo classes for kids, teens, and/or adults Emphasize safe falling, controlled throwing, proper partner care, and mat etiquette Help develop beginner and intermediate curriculum Maintain a clean, respectful, and disciplined class environment Communicate professionally with students, parents, and staff Support student retention, trial classes, promotions, and academy culture Represent Gym Jitsu with professionalism on and off the mat Compensation Compensation is based on experience, certifications, availability, and program growth. We are open to discussing hourly pay, class-based pay, private lesson opportunities, and growth incentives as the program develops. About Gym Jitsu Allen Gym Jitsu Allen is a family-focused martial arts academy located in Allen, Texas.
