The Archway is Tarrant County's only state-designated family violence program - this means we have the honor of working alongside domestic violence victims to keep them safe and simultaneously do our part in holding offenders accountable. We offer flexible work-life balance and an opportunity to change the community - and the world. The Archway is seeking a Summer Recreation Aide (Summer Only Position). This position has significant responsibilities, including providing structured activities for children aged 6 to 17 participating in the summer program. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to plan, develop, and implement age-appropriate crafts, group games, and projects suitable for all age groups within this range. The Summer Recreation Aide will collaborate with children who have experienced significant emotional stress and may exhibit emotional and physical acting-out behaviors. This position must ensure the safety of all children in care during on-site and off-site activities. Additionally, this position requires maintaining a calm and soothing atmosphere for children under their supervision while exhibiting a courteous demeanor toward both children and their parents is essential. Working in the domestic violence field can be hard - but we can do hard things. The specific qualifications for this role are: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), some college preferred; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess knowledge of developmental stages, age-appropriate activities and care guidelines for children. Previous experience with group games and structured activity facilitation with children preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to respond to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to communicate in a positive, helpful and courteous manner. Bilingual in Spanish preferred. Current Texas Driver's License required. Must provide proof of auto liability insurance. First Aid and CPR Certification required to perform the job but may be completed subsequent to employment at agency direction. Must be able to drive a 15-passenger van during the day or night.
