Movement/PE Class Instruction:
4 hours weekly

Background:
Cedar Tree Montessori is a Montessori school located in Bellingham, WA and was founded in 1999. We work to meet the needs of the whole child; cognitive, physical, social, and emotional in a nurturing Montessori community by fostering curiosity and independence. We believe in supporting and celebrating students' diverse needs, experiences and their families. Creating culturally res creating culturally responsive curriculum, and coming together as a community. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience guiding students ages 5-12. This position would support mixed age groups during outdoor education and after school care. Those who are passionate about working with children in nature, who enjoy guiding groups and are curious about Montessori education are encouraged to apply.
Daily Responsibilities:
Guiding elementary movement/PE classes outdoors twice weekly by incorporating cooperative, social and skill development. Support a small group of students after school by leading creative activities, gardening and outdoor exploration. Prepare the environment before students arrive for outdoor or indoor play. Respond to the needs of children indoors or outdoors (including First Aid).
Required Qualifications:
Experience prioritizing safely while supervising students ages 5-12.Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to get current certification. Desire to work with mixed ages. Experience providing culturally responsive supervision/leadership. Strong relationship building skills. Strong creativity and problem solving skills. Strong desire to learn about Montessori education. Experience leading outdoor recreation and/or environmental education with children.
