Job Description
Huntington University invites applications for the position of Program Director of Social Work. The Program Director of Social isa full-time faculty position that provides academic, administrative, and programmatic leadership for the Social Work program within theDivision of Social Sciences & Education. The Program Director will oversee curriculum development and assessment, teach courses, maintainaccreditation standards, advise students, and foster partnerships with community agencies and field placement sites. The successfulcandidate will bring professional expertise, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to integrating Christian faith with social work valuesand practice.
QUALIFICATIONS
Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program with a plan for earninga doctorate. Minimum of three (3) years of post-MSW professional social work experience. Licensed Social Worker (LSW orLCSW) in Indiana, or eligibility to obtain licensure. Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduatelevel. Knowledge ofCSWE EPAS
accreditation standards and processes. Must have a strong personal Christian commitmentand faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others Active Christian faith and a commitment to integrating faith andprofessional practice. Ability to affirm and uphold Huntington University's Statement of Faith and Community Covenant. Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women toimpact our world for Christ Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferred Positiveinterpersonal skills and a team player Excellent communications skills Demonstrated administrative and supervisoryskills Commitment to continuous process improvement Doctoral degree (DSW, Ph.D., or related field) or progress towardterminal degree preferred. Prior experience in program administration, curriculum development, or academic leadership ispreferred Experience with field education coordination and supervision is preferred Record of scholarship, research, orpublication in social work or a related discipline is preferred Familiarity with accreditation review processes is preferredSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Leadership & Administration Provide visionary leadership for theSocial Work program consistent with the University's mission and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Educational Policy andAccreditation Standards (EPAS). Coordinate program review, assessment, and continuous improvement processes to maintain or pursueCSWE accreditation. Develop and maintain the Social Work program's policies, procedures, and curriculum map in collaboration withfaculty and the Division Chair. Manage program budgets, schedule course offerings, and make recommendations regarding programstaffing. Teaching & Curriculum Development Teach a full-time equivalent course load in social work (typically12 credit hours per academic year, with adjustments for administrative responsibilities). Teach hybrid courses in a seven-weekformat in coordination with online faculty. Design and deliver courses that integrate Christian worldview perspectives withprofessional social work competencies. Mentor and advise social work majors through their academic and professionaldevelopment. Community & Professional Engagement Cultivate relationships with social service agencies,nonprofits, and community partners to support field placements and program relevance. Represent the Social Work program atprofessional conferences and maintain an active presence in state and national social work organizations. Engage in scholarlyactivity and professional practice consistent with the University's expectations for faculty. Participate in University-widecommittees, chapel, and community life.General Information:
