Salary Range:
Up to $55,000 annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.
Job Type:
Full Time Position Summary The Department of Social Work is seeking to fill an Assistant Professor of Practice, fixed-term track faculty appointment (i.e. non-tenure track). Position may include teaching at the undergraduate (BSW) or graduate (MSW) levels, depending on Departmental needs. The position is full-time and considered 40 hours a week for 9 months of each year. Anticipated workload distribution, depending on departmental needs: 80% teaching and 20% service. For 80% teaching loads, course load is 4 courses each semester. Essential Functions Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses during fall and spring semesters. Course instruction will be primarily face-to-face, and it is required that candidates be able and present to teach in that format. Engagement in service depending on Department needs. Qualifications Master of Social Work degree from a CSWE-accredited program. Two (2) years of related experience post MSW degree completion. Knowledge of academic and social work practice environments. Excellent interpersonal skills. This position requires the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching in higher education at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Social work licensure in Texas or eligibility for licensure in Texas.
