JOB SUMMARY:

Galveston College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Adjunct Faculty Member in Sociology to provide high-quality, in-person instruction to students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sociology and a passion for teaching. This position involves delivering engaging coursework, fostering critical thinking, and supporting student learning in a classroom setting. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach assigned in-person sociology courses following the college s curriculum and academic standards. Develop and implement instructional materials that enhance student understanding of sociological concepts. Engage students through interactive lectures, discussions, and real-world applications of sociology. Assess student performance through assignments, exams, and class participation. Provide timely feedback, academic support, and mentorship to students. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress. Stay updated on developments in sociology and incorporate relevant topics into coursework. Adhere to college policies and participate in faculty meetings and training as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master s degree or higher in Sociology or a closely related field. Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
