Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 26-27 school year in Kasilof, AK. This role is ideal for dedicated educators specializing in special education who are interested in making a meaningful impact across multiple educational settings. The position involves working as an itinerant teacher, providing support and instruction to students at both Seward High School and Moose Pass Elementary, offering a diverse and dynamic teaching environment.
Responsibilities include:
Designing and delivering individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities. Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and support staff to enhance student learning and inclusion. Monitoring and assessing student progress, adjusting teaching methods to improve outcomes. Managing classroom environments that foster the social and academic development of all students. Traveling between sites to provide consistent support and services.
Qualifications and desired experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with students across a range of disabilities in a school setting. Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, families, and colleagues. Flexibility and willingness to travel between schools as part of the itinerant role.
