Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Intensive Needs Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, visual impairments, and other complex challenges. Your energy and expertise will help foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will develop tailored lesson plans, implement evidence-based interventions, and collaborate closely with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each student's success. This paid position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with intensive needs. Responsibilities Design and deliver individualized education programs (IEPs) that meet each student's unique needs, incorporating curriculum development and instructional design principles. Implement specialized teaching strategies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy to enhance learning outcomes. Adapt instructional materials and utilize learning technology to support literacy education, math skills, early childhood development, and other core subjects. Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, counselors, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques while fostering a positive learning environment. Manage a staff of paraprofessionals who assist in the delivery of curricula and implementation of IEPs. Use assessment tools including standardized testing to monitor progress and adjust instruction accordingly. Maintain detailed documentation of student progress, conduct regular IEP meetings, and ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations. Requirements Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field; advanced certifications or licenses in special education are preferred. Proven classroom experience working with children with disabilities such as autism, developmental delays, visual impairments or hearing impairments. Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices for early intervention and preschool education. Proficiency in working with learning technology tools, instructional design software, and assistive communication devices. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, colleagues, and external service providers. Ability to implement behavioral health strategies and manage classroom behavior effectively. Pay:
$51,245.00 - $60,000.00 per year
