Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Travel A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the 2026-2027 school year, serving as an itinerant educator working with both high school and elementary students. This role requires traveling between Seward High School and Moose Pass Elementary, making it ideal for candidates open to travel or those interested in long-term relocation to Alaska.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's goals. Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to enhance student progress. Monitor and assess student performance and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with education regulations. Support a positive and inclusive learning environment in both school settings.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education teaching certification. Experience working with students in special education across various age groups. Ability to manage itinerant responsibilities, traveling between multiple school locations. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Commitment to student-centered instruction and individualized support.
Location:
This role is based in Soldotna, Alaska, with travel between Seward and Moose Pass schools. Candidates should be prepared for travel or consider relocation for a long-term assignment in this unique community.
